Job Description Summary
Responsible for making sound credit decisions regarding credit extensions and credit limits to maximize profitability while minimizing credit risk and losses. Maintains accurate, current financial information on existing and prospective customers and uses data-driven analysis to guide credit and risk-related decisions that support the organization.
In addition to core credit responsibilities, this role develops, evaluates, and enhances general business processes (non-manufacturing) to improve overall operational effectiveness. Applies process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to streamline workflows, reduce costs, eliminate waste, increase efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. Creates documentation to support analysis and improvement efforts, including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap analyses. Plans and implements quality assurance and compliance processes and may assist in developing training or change-management materials related to new or updated procedures.
This role supports the BPQ goal of fostering a continuous improvement mindset, driving automation, digitalization, and process optimization to strengthen efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational performance.
The position supports both U.S. and Canadian operations, including the review and adjudication of Canadian credit applications and management of the Canadian credit portfolio. The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with dealers, customers, and business partners in both English and French.

What You Drive at DTFS  

  • Analyze, investigate, and decision retail and lease applications, including applications within the Canadian credit portfolio.
  • Communicate credit decisions to dealers via phone and eCredit Pro in both English and French, as required.
  • Negotiate conditioned approvals and alternative structures with dealers.  
  • Build positive working relationships with assigned dealers and regions, including Canadian dealer partners. Provide courteous, consultative, and timely customer service to dealers in both English and French, where applicable. 
  •  Work with District Finance Managers on buying strategies for assigned dealerships to ensure proper credit risk and return are achieved. Support District Finance Managers in communicating the Daimler Truck Financial Services value proposition.
  • Validate application information, collect additional data, and collaborate with the discounting team to resolve funding discrepancies while ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian credit policies and procedures.
  • Work first-payment defaults and follow up on customers coming off extensions. Act as a liaison between collections and dealers.  
  • Travel to assigned dealerships to review business performance in conjunction with District Finance Managers (5%).
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancement, automation, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies within U.S. and Canadian credit operations.  

Knowledge You Should Bring  

  • BS/BA and preferably 0-2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.  
  • 1 year hands on experience with credit analysis and underwriting.
  • 1 year of experience in Finance, Truck Discounting, Truck Remarketing, Fleet Services, Collections, Customer Service.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have  

  • Fluency in both English and French (written and verbal).
  • Previous experience supporting a Canadian credit portfolio or bilingual customer-facing environment.
  • Experience working with credit underwriting, risk management, or commercial and retail lending processes across multiple markets. 
  • Knowledge of Canadian credit policies, lending regulations, and dealer/customer support requirements.
