Job Description
The SLS Core Stage Operations Lead serves as the primary interface for the SLS Core Stage Element for operations to develop and maintain element operational readiness
Serves as the primary representative of the SLS Core Stage Element for operations by reviewing cross program documents, review HOSC change request as the Core Stage liaison, manage Core Stage Element training material, coordinate training events, evaluate/coordinate new Core Stage controllers training metrics, and present material back to the Core Stage Element management.
The Operations Lead will also need to support simulations, integrated testing events, and launch operations as the primary operations console coordinator for the Core Stage Element.
Develop seating assignments to schedule console support opportunities. Operations knowledge and exercise with HOSC ground systems is needed to help train controllers for the Core Stage Element and coordinate any ground systems items for resolution.
Be the voice for the Stages Element with Launch Integration and Mission Operations (LIMO) team for any operation type items.
Provide coordination for the sim/test/flight operational events with LIMO and the Core Stage Element. Create/present console support coverage assignment to management and be the lead for any console assignment issues.
Present operational information to the Core Stage Element management for review/approval. Be the liaison for operations for the Core Stage Element with the Launch Integration and Mission Operations (LIMO) team as the Element Representative.
Support flight readiness reviews and the Stages Operations Lead for the Core Stage Element. Present Core Stage readiness to the Core Stage Element Manager and SLS Program for sim/test/flight operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 15 years Launch Vehicle and / or Flight Operations Readiness is required.
Launch Vehicle Ground Systems Development experience is required.
The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills and able to work efficiently with minimal oversight / guidance.
This position is located on Redstone Arsenal at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. There is some travel associated with this role.
