Pay Rate: $24.26/hour CAD

Summary Description

The Slitter Assistant supports slitting operations by assisting with machine setup, monitoring product quality, and ensuring efficient production flow. This role plays a key part in maintaining safety, quality, and productivity while supporting Slitter Operators and covering operations when needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements (including cut-resistant gloves and safe blade handling)

  • Pack shafts and monitor machine operations

  • Maintain company health, safety, and housekeeping standards

  • Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing shifts

  • Minimize waste and improve material efficiency

  • Ensure product quality meets customer specifications

  • Set up and operate roll doctor machine

  • Remove or correct defects from slitter rolls

  • Package and palletize products according to customer requirements

  • Change rewind and unwind rolls

  • Perform minor mechanical maintenance as needed

  • Retrieve and deliver materials to the slitting area

  • Accurately input production data into reporting systems

  • Create and apply core labels

  • Operate slitters as needed to support or cover for Slitter Operators

  • Understand and follow machine setup procedures

  • Participate in Global Performance System (GPS) activities

  • Perform other duties as assigned
