By providing interoperable digital solutions for end-to-end operations, Skywise combines aircraft manufacturer expertise and digital know-how to transform operational complexity into predictable and profitable performance, ensuring resilient and more sustainable operations.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to serve as a key engineering contributor for our development team. In this role, your primary mission is to deliver high-quality code, drive performance improvements, and champion engineering excellence across our C# .NET ecosystem. You will focus on hands-on development, tackling complex technical challenges, refactoring legacy code for peak optimization, and providing valuable mentorship to your fellow developers.

You’ll be part of a team building our next-generation services for commercial aviation customers. As part of our software engineering team, you’ll continue to enhance functionality for dispatch, performance, scheduling, tracking, documentation, and/or weather systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to architectural design, evaluate complex technical trade-offs, manage technical debt, and promote robust development practices for the C#/.NET ecosystem.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks, drive deep code refactoring initiatives, and squeeze peak system performance out of both legacy .NET Framework (Windows) and modern .NET Core applications, including SQL database optimizations.
  • Independently drive complex technical features from design documentation through to successful deployment, ensuring technical initiatives align with our broader business goals.
  • Uphold operational excellence standards and conduct comprehensive code reviews to ensure secure, high-quality deliverables, while championing the integration and team-wide adoption of AI-powered tools and best practices in AI-assisted engineering.
  • Actively mentor, support, and nurture the professional growth of junior and intermediate team members, fostering a collaborative, modern, and highly engaged engineering culture.
  • Effectively translate and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical team members and non-technical business stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

Experience and Education:

  • At least seven (7+) years of professional experience developing software with .NET and C# or equivalent technologies.
  • Proven track record of developing scalable software, providing technical guidance, and making sound engineering decisions within a team setting.
  • Strong, hands-on experience in code optimization, system performance tuning, and refactoring complex codebases as well as working with relational databases (SQL).
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing, debugging, and resolving software issues in live production environments.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills, with the ability to confidently articulate complex concepts to both technical team members and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cloud environments, specifically AWS, is an asset.
  • College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree within the software engineering area of study or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in English.
