SKI SCHOOL SALES JOB SUMMARY:

Provide excellent guest service by assisting individuals and families in selecting the most appropriate ski school products for their needs. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about ski school offerings, efficient with technology, and committed to delivering a high-quality guest experience.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:


  • Provide mountain information: Offer general knowledge and guidance to guests regarding mountain operations and services.
  • Use POS software (SnowCloud): Process sales and complete transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Use software tools: Operate Microsoft Windows and Google Suite applications with proficiency.
  • Assist with product selection: Help customers choose the best lesson products based on their needs and goals.
  • Process transactions: Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit payments.
  • Answer guest inquiries: Respond to phone calls regarding ski school products and services.
  • Show initiative: Complete routine and special assignments with follow-through and reliability.
  • Support management projects: Assist Ski School leadership with special tasks as needed.
  • Support Rentals: Provide occasional support to the Ski School Rental Department.
  • Support other departments: Offer cross-departmental assistance when necessary.
  • Sell lesson products: Accurately sell all lesson packages and related items to guests.
  • Understand ski school products: Maintain full knowledge of ski school offerings to guide guests into the most suitable lessons.
  • Prepare reports: Compile daily sales and revenue reports with accuracy.
  • Maintain composure: Stay calm and professional in high-volume or stressful situations.
  • Work as a team: Collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive team environment.


 

SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Guest service communication: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with guests in person, by email and over the phone.
  • Technical competency: Proficient in using Windows and Google Suite tools for reporting, sales, and communication.
  • Product knowledge and sales skills: Able to learn and explain ski school offerings to match guest needs.


 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:


A high school diploma or GED equivalent is desired. Previous experience handling money and working in a guest service environment is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Google Suite applications is strongly recommended. Prior knowledge of or experience in a ski school setting is beneficial.


 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


This role involves sitting or standing for extended periods, using a computer and telephone, and interacting with guests in a fast-paced setting. The position may require multitasking and maintaining attention to detail during busy operations. Strong verbal and written communication are necessary.


 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Work takes place primarily indoors in an office or guest-facing service area within the ski resort. The environment can become busy and noisy during peak times. Employees interact frequently with guests, coworkers, and other departments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.


 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Seeing: REGULARLY

-Must be able to read departmental communications and monitor/maintain a safe learning environment.

Hearing: REGULARLY

-Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers and guests.

Standing/Walking: REGULARLY

-Consistent and constant standing and walking while in operation.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: FREQUENTLY

-The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods. 

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: FREQUENTLY

-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: OCCASIONALLY

-Must be able to write, type, and use phone system
