In this position...
Ford Racing is seeking a Vehicle Launch & Quality Engineer with Six Sigma Black Belt expertise to drive process discipline and data-driven quality improvement across our Production Vehicle Programs. You will own quality planning, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that ensure our highest-performance vehicles launch flawlessly—identifying defects before they reach the track, building repeatable processes that raise the bar for every future program and improve ongoing production.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do...
- Lead DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) projects to resolve quality issues during prototype builds, vehicle launch phases and ongoing production.
- Partner cross-functionally with D&R engineers, PVT, Launch Team, Program Management, and supplier teams to drive root-cause corrective actions and eliminate recurring defects.
- Analyze launch and build data to identify trends, quantify process capability, and recommend design or process changes that improve first-time quality.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, coaching engineering teams on Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies to sustain long-term gains.
You'll have...
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, or related discipline) or equivalent.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification or ability to earn within 6 months.
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle launch, quality engineering, or manufacturing process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience applying statistical analysis and root-cause problem-solving tools (e.g., DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, 8D, A3, 3L5W) in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Prior hands-on experience with prototype build events and physical validation testing.Top of Form
- Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications and Minitab statistical software.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability for corrective actions.
- A proven self-starter who thrives with minimal direction, proactively identifying priorities and driving initiatives forward with little to no oversight.
- A deep passion for motorsports and high-performance vehicle programs.

This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300.,
This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.,
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.,
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
