To be based in Slough on customer site

20 hours per week 12 pm to 4 pm daily

How do we make an impact?

Unity(TM) Lab Services assists the Customer Channels Group by providing on-site services to optimize supply chain and research operations.

The position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services' core offerings of: Stockroom and point-of-use inventory management.

What will you do?

  • Make on-site program replenishments and disbursements. Perform stockroom duties to include: receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.
  • Follow well-defined Best Practices, SOP & work instructions. Take direction from the Team Lead where appropriate regarding daily duties.
  • Promote personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of a site trainer and management team.
  • Listen to customer concerns, diffuse dissatisfaction, and quickly identify a course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.
  • Proactively communicate with supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problems.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements (Thermo Fisher and Customer).
  • Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Must have previous warehousing and logistics or related experience.
  • Willingness to learn on the job.

Experience:

  • Experience in logistics operations and warehousing.
  • Previous experience in attention to detail, problem-solving solving and working in a team environment, preferably within a laboratory setting or services.
  • Some first leadership experience.
  • Validated customer service skills with shown verbal and written skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possess basic skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.
  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses.
  • Possess the interpersonal skills to multitask and meet timelines.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to include maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
  • Must lift, push, and pull 10-30 pounds regularly; may lift 40 pounds, using equipment as needed.
  • May be required to work independently at a customer location.
