Our Distribution team is now looking for a Site Services Operative to help maintain the smooth running of our Thatcham site. You will play a key role in supporting our recycling operation and ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the exceptional standards expected at Harrods.
About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of the Harrods recycling programme and maintaining the warehouse and outdoor operational areas. Reporting to the Site Services Team Leader, you will ensure that all recycling, cleaning, and maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
You will:
- Support the recycling process by sorting waste from the main and satellite sites.
- Maintain cleanliness and order across the warehouse and yard areas.
- Operate electric trucks and cleaning equipment safely (training will be provided).
- Follow operational guidelines for all automated equipment.
- Report any Health and Safety concerns immediately to your Line Manager.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support your Line Manager with day-to-day tasks.
- Attend team briefings and training sessions to stay informed and up to date.
This role involves some heavy lifting and outdoor working in varying weather conditions. It follows a rotating shift pattern, working five days out of seven, with standard hours of 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday, and regular weekend work from 11am to 7pm.
