Job Description:

Site Safety Specialist

Huntsman is seeking a Site Safety Specialist supporting the Shared Services located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Waterway Facility Manager.

Job Scope

The Waterway Office Site Safety Specialist role is the primary point of contact for all safety and security related activities in the Waterway Office.  This includes the promotion, coordination, communication, and awareness training for all personnel safety programs, policies, and initiatives as well as coordination with the Property Management group for all building life safety systems and drills.

Roles and responsibilities:

 With limited supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Administrative (procedures, metrics, audits, training materials, permitting)       
  • Site Security (primary POC, access control coordination, physical security, cameras)
  • Life Safety (fire system w/prop.mgmt, fire wardens, drills, training/awareness)
  • Office Safety (Zero Harm, division/group interactions, communications)
  • Building Communications (after hours work, impairments, inspections, documentation)
  • Other (HR POC random drug testing, wellness room support)
  • Facility Manager back up (POC in manager absence)

Other general responsibilities:

  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
  • Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
 
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 10 years related experience may be substituted in lieu of formal educational background.
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years related experience.
  • Experience in Office Safety and/or Facility Management highly desirable

Skills and Knowledge

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
  • Knowledge and experience with facility access control and security systems is desirable
