Job Description

We seek a New College Grad to join us as a Site Reliability Engineer, working in the Product Reliability Engineering function who will

  • Perform day-to-day site reliability engineering functions including Maintenance and incident resolution for all Debit applications, products, and services – including debit, prepaid and risk lines of business. 

  • Perform ongoing/Proactive analysis of various API and UI based applications to detect potential problems and actively engage & facilitate the discussion to find the best possible solution.

  • Work under direct supervision to ensure on-time delivery of projects, and production support plans for upgrades, enhancements, and deployments. 

  • Work closely with service partners such as product development, engineering teams to seamlessly implement the innovative solutions to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Assist in automating the routine tasks and processes to improve overall efficiency and reduce human errors.

  • Actively participate in troubleshooting activities and SWAT calls and drive investigation towards swift resolution.

  • Build comprehensive and robust documentation repositories that can facilitate knowledge transfer among technology teams

  • Assist the team with implementing GenAI and machine learning trends to continuously optimize the application reliability and efficiency.

  • Participate in on-call roster to support business including off-hours.

  • Self-motivated, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
• 2 or more years of work experience
• Working knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Python, Java,
• Strong understanding of back-end technologies such as J2EE, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, JMX and MBeans
• Strong understanding of relational database usage with commercial-grade databases.
• Knowledge in designing and developing software applications.
• Deep understanding of SOA principles and Web Services technologies: REST & SOAP
• Fluent with developing applications using Eclipse or similar IDE
• Strong UNIX/Linux background
• Kubernetes, Docker knowledge is added advantage
• Knowledge of Cloud DevOps, Build & Release Management
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and architecture.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 84,600.00 to 119,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
