The Opportunity
“The Site Reliability Engineer is an overlay of software development and systems engineering. Your responsibility is a full-stack support role, managing complex distributed enterprise SaaS offerings. The role emphasizes uptime, scalability and a focus on rapid development and deployment through a CI/CD pipeline. Support extends beyond incident management, applying methodologies used in development to identify and resolve problems in the environment, architecture and code. Curiosity and problem solving are the cornerstone of a successful SRE engineer.” – Director, Site Reliability Engineering
What You’ll Contribute
- As a generalist with software engineering background, you will support the full stack of Public Cloud, Private Cloud and SaaS Enterprise Products.
- Manage the operations and stability of the environments in accordance with established procedures and best practices, while contributing to continuous improvement within those processes and procedures.
- Drive incidents to and beyond resolution, identifying points of remediation and improvement for ever improving software and environment reliability.
- Implement, monitor, refresh, and perform disaster recovery tasks on all supported applications.
What We’re Seeking
- Intermediate to advanced Linux experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Working knowledge of core AWS tech stack services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, etc.) or non-AWS Cloud Equivalent. Certification a plus.
- Java programming background
- Python Development experience
- Working knowledge of relational database systems – MySQL, SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, Oracle 11 and Oracle RAC.
- Working knowledge of networking systems and protocols, firewalls and TCP/IP networks, standards, and architectures. Hands-on knowledge of load balancers and firewalls desired.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Familiarity with ITIL standards and technologies (ServiceNow)
- Scripting/programming experience in NodeJS or BASH Shell a plus.
- Working Knowledge of Git/Bitbucket a plus.
