About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our growing team. As an SRE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our applications and infrastructure, with a key focus on driving cost efficiencies. You will be working closely with our development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain robust and cost-effective systems that power our business. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies (specifically AWS), proficiency in Golang, and a passion for automation, optimization, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation tools and frameworks to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and optimize infrastructure costs.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues across various layers of the infrastructure, proactively identifying areas for cost reduction.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews to prevent future occurrences and minimize financial impact.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed and built for scalability, reliability, observability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable software deployments while optimizing resource utilization.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, with a focus on cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze cloud infrastructure spending, identify areas of waste, and implement strategies to optimize costs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in the DevOps and SRE space, including cost optimization techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on operational excellence and cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, and CloudWatch, with experience in cost management tools and strategies.
- Proficiency in Golang and experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking concepts.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to identify and implement cost-saving measures in cloud environments.
