DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design and develop software systems that promote creative engineering solutions for operations problems. Work with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cloud engineers throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) to build platform, pipeline, and monitoring systems for the company's global cloud solution. Develop new cloud engineering strategies for the firm, and implement Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) frameworks to support global multi-cloud environments, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Help the Advanced Data Enterprise team with production support in the public cloud. Perform failure analysis and root cause analysis. Develop and improve the quality of technical engineering documentation. Provide quality control for engineering deliverables and technical consultation to product management. Perform deployment, administration, management, configuration, testing, and integration tasks related to the Big Data platforms in cloud environment. Champion a DevOps model so that services are automated and elastic across all platforms. Participate in SRE on-call rotations and escalation workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, IT Systems/Network Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, IT Systems/Network Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Git; Shell Scripting; Infrastructure as Code; AWS Cloud Computing; Jenkins; Linux; Python; Mac Os; Networking; HTTPS; TCP; UDP; and root cause analysis for software reliability.
Job Location: 3223 Hanover Street, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
Full-Time. Salary: $174,500 - $185,000 per year.
