Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Veriff is hiring its founding Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the USA!

The Engineering Division at Veriff builds the software powering our platform, cracking the online identity crisis in a scalable way. In this role, you'll shape Veriff's DevOps landscape and be our founding member for this team in the USA, playing a key role in service architecture, deployment efficiency, and system monitoring. We're not just seeking an engineer; we're looking for someone exceptional, ready to elevate our DevOps initiatives, oversee our operations in the Americas, and partner cross-functionally within the team across the Engineering organization.

You’ll help us protect honest people online by:

• Architecting and maintaining Veriff's services for continuous operation and compliance with SLAs.
• Establishing and managing a platform enabling product teams to deploy and monitor services effectively.
• Leading initiatives to enhance operational excellence across Engineering org (e.g. architectural patterns, testing practices, alerting mechanisms, circuit-breaking strategies) and improving operational processes (incl. capacity planning, resilience testing, and postmortems).
• Ensuring transparent communication of service level status and conducting postmortems for continuous service delivery improvements, fostering trust with Veriff customers.
• Fostering a proper feedback loop between Product Engineering teams and the Engineering Platform.
• Developing, maintaining, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for efficient service deployment.
• Implementing SRE best practices to monitor system health and logs, proactively identifying and preventing security breaches.
• Applying SRE methodologies in participating in on-call rotations, ensuring swift resolution of incidents in production systems.
• Utilizing Grafana for effective monitoring, visualization, and analysis of system metrics to improve the reliability of the stack. 
• Prioritizing security, engaging in security initiatives, fortifying infrastructure, and implementing robust security measures for a secure operational environment.

You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have/are:

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps or SRE.
• Proficient understanding of modern infrastructure stacks, including Linux, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and microservices architectures.
• A strong background in IP networking fundamentals, with knowledge of SDN and Container networks as a plus.
• Previous experience deploying and managing services in production, emphasizing scalability and manageability.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and proficiency with cloud providers, strong knowledge with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• The ability to read, understand, and write code, with proficiency in automating tasks (e.g. Go, Python).
• Understanding and application of SRE principles in system reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on experience with the Grafana stack for advanced monitoring and visualization, deploying metrics/traces/logs collection agents (preferably Grafana agent). 

You’re an especially awesome match if you have/are:

• Previous experience with PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, GitOps
• Experience working for a global scaleup

 Compensation

The base salary for this role is $142,500 - $180,000 per year.   Please note that our salary ranges are based on current market data and the offered compensation may vary based on experience, skills, location, and other factors permitted by law
