The Work You'll Do
As a Site Reliability Engineer III at Sovos, you will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and operating highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that powers our SaaS solutions. You will drive improvements in platform stability and customer experience, acting as a technical leader and mentor within the Cloud Operations team. Your expertise will influence reliability practices across teams, ensuring our systems are production-ready and resilient. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on our cloud infrastructure while deepening your technical skills in a collaborative, global environment.
More specifically, you will:
- Design, develop, operate, and optimize internal platforms and tools for deploying, monitoring, alerting, securing, and troubleshooting Sovos applications
- Lead and contribute to the evolution of reliability, scalability, and performance practices across cloud-hosted services
- Collaborate with Platform, Development, and Architecture teams to build efficient CI/CD pipelines and operationally sound systems
- Drive improvements in observability, incident response, and post-incident analysis to enhance service reliability and uptime
- Manage complex initiatives, systems, and services independently, serving as a technical point of contact and mentor for engineers
- Set up systems, software, and experiments; test, validate, and verify features, tools, and processes for production readiness
- Identify operational risks proactively and lead remediation efforts to strengthen resilience and fault tolerance
What We Need From You
- Strong experience in application monitoring, distributed systems, data storage, and cloud infrastructure at scale
- Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle with hands-on experience using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or TeamCity
- Advanced experience with infrastructure as code technologies (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet)
- Proficiency with cloud deployment, monitoring, and operational analytics tools (e.g., Scalyr, Nagios, AppDynamics, Prometheus/Grafana)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, production-scale issues and drive long-term corrective actions
- Proven collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor, share knowledge, and influence engineering best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-regional environment
- Advanced proficiency in English
