Job summary
As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology and Risk Technology, you will design, maintain, and optimize applications and infrastructure to support the firm's business objectives. You will collaborate with your team to promote reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across critical systems.
Job responsibilities
- Guide and assist in building designs and gaining consensus from peers
- Collaborate to design and implement deployment approaches using automated CI/CD pipelines
- Design, develop, test, and implement solutions for availability, reliability, and scalability
- Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for applications and platforms
- Resolve complex problems with technical experts, stakeholders, and team members
- Utilize service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before customer impact
- Support the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within the team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on site reliability concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Proficient in site reliability principles and their implementation within applications or platforms
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Shell, or .Net
- Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, Databricks)
- Experience in observability, monitoring, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
- Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as ECS, Kubernetes, or Docker
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Exposure to large data processing and rules engines
- Experience in Control-M or batch processing
- Understanding of financial and credit business flows
- Familiarity with troubleshooting networking technologies and issues
