SMX is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team on a new program and work with some of the best technologists in the market. This is a remote position supporting a Washington, DC based program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes engineering-design concepts and recommends design or test methods through CI/CD pipeline for attaining or improving specified operational reliability.
  • Work on enhancement of standardized operational tasks and failure scenarios through automation.
  • Work on continuous improvement of the Application stack by researching, analyzing, and testing new technologies.

Required skills and qualifications.

  • 5+ years of technical experience supporting complex hosting infrastructure programs (Cloud, on-prem, cybersecurity, network).
  • Participate in troubleshooting of infrastructure and/or application related issues.
  • Produce well-written technical project documentation.
  • Work with the team on technical reviews.
  • Work on a team to identify, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions.
  • Identify and support Continuous Improvement opportunities to increase system reliability.
  • Deploy and configure cloud services according to best practice.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent technical experience.
