About the Position:

The Site Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the project's architectural trade packages. Reporting to the Site Superintendent, this role leads architectural field coordination, short-interval planning, progress monitoring, interface management, quality follow-up, deficiency closeout, and subcontractor performance tracking.

The role works closely with the Senior Project Manager and office project team on commercial, contractual, change-management, procurement, and document-control matters. The position does not replace the Site Superintendent's authority over overall site operations or the Senior Project Manager's authority over contracts and commercial commitments.

  • Lead daily field coordination for assigned architectural subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring work is performed safely, in the correct sequence, and in accordance with the contract documents.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the mobilization of architectural subcontractors and trades to site, ensuring the timely submission, review, and completion of all required project documentation and pre-mobilization requirements.
  • Support and guide subcontractors through camp accommodations and site rules, travel and flight arrangements, site access requirements, safety orientations, onboarding activities, training certifications, and workforce planning to ensure personnel are compliant, mobilized efficiently, and prepared to commence work in accordance with project schedules and site requirements.
  • Maintain clear architectural scope boundaries and coordinate interfaces with structural, mechanical, electrical, process, civil, building-envelope, and commissioning teams.
  • Develop and maintain the architectural three- to six-week look-ahead schedule, identify constraints, confirm work-front readiness, and provide progress updates to the Site Superintendent and project controls team.
  • Monitor subcontractor manpower, productivity, material availability, equipment, access, and performance against commitments; identify recovery actions when progress falls behind plan.
  • Coordinate architectural material releases, delivery dates, receiving, storage, protection, installation readiness, and required inspections.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, subcontracts, shop drawings, RFIs, and approved changes to support correct field execution.
  • Track architectural submittals and RFIs, identify overdue or schedule-critical items, and provide site input while following the project's established submittal and document-control process.
  • Maintain daily field records, progress photographs, quantities, constraints, decisions, and events that may affect cost or schedule.
  • Identify potential changes, support quantity validation, collect contemporaneous records, and prepare factual backup for review by the Senior Project Manager. Do not make commercial commitments without delegated written authority.
  • Coordinate architectural inspections, hold points, witness points, mock-ups, testing, deficiencies, non-conformance follow-up, and corrective work with the QA/QC team.
  • Support project safety requirements within the architectural scope, participate in planning and hazard reviews, and stop or escalate unsafe work in accordance with Walters and project procedures.
  • Chair architectural coordination meetings and issue concise action lists. Participate in broader site, schedule, safety, quality, and commercial meetings as required.
  • Manage architectural punch-list, turnover, as-built, warranty, O&M manual, training, and closeout activities in coordination with document control and the Senior Project Manager.

Work Location:

  • On Site: Remote camp site, Lynn Lake Manitoba

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible construction experience with a large general contractor, construction manager, EPCM organization, major trade contractor, engineering lead, or consortium team.
  • Diploma or degree in construction management, architectural technology, civil or structural engineering technology, engineering, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of field leadership and project-management experience will be considered.
  • Gold Seal certification or internship in the Project Manager or Superintendent designation, PMP certification, or other relevant construction-management training is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience on major industrial, commercial, institutional, mining, or other complex construction projects.
  • Practical experience coordinating multiple architectural trade packages such as building envelope, roofing, cladding, glazing, doors and hardware, interior partitions, ceilings, finishes, specialties, and related interfaces.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, changes, schedules, quality documentation, and turnover requirements.
  • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, resolve field constraints, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with both site and office teams.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada and able to satisfy project-specific site-access requirements.
