Lead planning, coordination, installation, and commissioning of MEP and electrical systems for data center projects. Manage schedules, subcontractors, vendors, costs, inspections, testing (ISAT L1-L5), and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while updating drawings and preparing BOQs and estimates.

Data Centre Experience:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to full understanding of MEP requirements and project goals.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of all MEP systems installation and integration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage the MEP portion of the project schedule, ensuring the timely completion of all tasks and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with client, PMC, engineers, and other construction managers to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project design and construction schedule. Monitoring of Material procurement and on time delivery of materials and equipments to avoid the execution delay.
  • Coordinate with the ELV team and HVAC team for the smooth execution to complete the milestones within timelines.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure cost-effective and efficient execution of MEP work within the project timeline. Mentor and develop MEP engineers, field staff, and subcontractors, ensuring they have the necessary resources, training, and direction to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, providing feedback and resolving any conflicts or issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to project safety standards, quality requirements, and company policies.
  • Tracking of Project related costs like Manpower, material and machinery ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
  • Prepared the BOQ, Rate analysis, estimates and manages projects change orders with qty and price variation ensuring site changes and documentation.
  • Conduction of routine inspection to ensure that all work meets quality standards and is in compliance with safety regulations. Manage and coordinate with the testing and commissioning team to ensure proper functionality and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Vendor management, negotiation, progress s tracking for the milestone achievement.
  • Conversant with L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 ISAT testing. Identify the Dependencies with the other vendors and find out the early solution with the client for the smooth work with the help of learnt and lesson strategy.
  • Attending the Weekly meeting for the project progress tracking to meet the project timeline with other stakeholders, outlining progress, challenges, and risks. Installation and commissioning of 33 KV HT cable, RMU and 2 MVA Transformers with LV panels, security system accessories, third party power points etc.
  • Preparation of Schedule upto L7 Level.
  • Update the drawing with tracker for the submission of client approval related to all activities of DATA center.
     

Preferred candidate profile

  • Electrical Engineer - Project Site Construction Engineer with Electrical Engineering background required on site to take care of Electrical and ELV activities.
  • A competent professional with nearly 10 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Project Management (Especially On Site Execution).
  • Abilities in executing projects in line with all the key objectives of execution and strategies for delivering results within cost & schedule. Experience in Data Centre, Electrical Utility, Electrical Distribution System and MEP. Having the knowledge of developing and maintaining Electrical System, EHS And Quality.

Skills Required

  • Electrical engineering background and on-site project construction experience
  • MEP project management and on-site execution experience
  • Nearly 10 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical project management
  • Experience in Data Centre, Electrical Utility, Electrical Distribution System and MEP
  • Conversant with ISAT testing levels L1 through L5
  • Experience with installation and commissioning of 33 KV HT cable, RMU, 2 MVA transformers and LV panels
  • Vendor and subcontractor management, negotiation, and milestone tracking
  • Preparation of BOQ, rate analysis, estimates, and change order management
  • Knowledge of EHS and Quality systems
