Sensata Site Procurement leads and coordinates our engagement and relationships with our external suppliers and partners to drive value every day. This role is expected to lead, influence and affect those relationships in two key ways for Sensata’s Production Site – (1) managing direct material production Suppliers for the site, and (2) driving the implementation of category strategies outlined by Global procurement. This is a high-visibility and impactful position with a significant level of responsibility, ownership and accountability, and is a key contributor to the site’s success. Sense of urgency and autonomy is key for success in this position.
General Responsibilities:
• Lead the overall procurement and execution of all specific activities and ensure appropriate alignment between suppliers, sourcing leads and NPI/NPD cross functional teams at the site level
• Act as a single point of contact and represent all aspects of procurement for the site.
• Make sure the site is represented within Global Procurement by giving feedback on Production suppliers performance and inputs on new product development
• Establish communication with commodity managers to coordinate activities, escalations when necessary and understand/implement category strategies.
• Support/lead project to drive material cost out through negotiation, qualifying new suppliers, VAVE and supplier process improvements.
• Own, support/execute aligned programs to build a robust supply chain for business growth and manage key suppliers to continuously reduce supply chain risks
• Involved in supplier contract negotiation for key material supplies
• Conduct monthly spend/cost analysis to facilitate intelligent purchases for the business.
• Coordinate efforts between suppliers, engineering and quality team to achieve goals – including cross Sensata Sites
• Conduct supplier communication between the company and suppliers on commercial/technical matters specific to the sites
• Manage and control PPV impacts as well as reporting.
• Manage and oversee a group of site procurement category leads to ensure performance and support to other functions
• Have clear Procurement KPIs in sight – support other functions as it related to supplier performance like deliveries and / or quality, for example, however with medium to long term solutions always in perspective.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Higher Degree Engineering, Administration or Equivalent
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Leadership position within Procurement / Sourcing
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
• Ability to travel and visit suppliers if necessary.
