The Process/Controls Engineer reports to the Plant Manager and will lead the plant's process improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for driving manufacturing productivity by improving process efficiencies, increasing capacity, reducing waste, and improving quality.
Key processes in this facility include industrial roofing urethane and asphalt, and adhesive tape. The engineer will join during a stage of rapid growth and work with a diverse team to support automation and process improvement projects critical to business success.
Primary Responsibilities
• Apply tools and techniques to achieve breakthroughs in overall equipment efficiency
• Strengthen teamwork within operations and across functions
• Lead continuous process improvement activities
• Improve process control through instrumentation and statistical tools
• Identify and implement automation and packaging improvements
• Utilize lean techniques to improve activities
• Utilize financial analysis tools to support plant activities and identify opportunities
• Support capital projects that range in complexity and scale
• Develop standardized work procedures
• Assist with safety programs and improvement throughout the facility
Minimum Requirements
• BS Degree in an Engineering discipline
• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Capital project support experience of minimum $100K
• Experience supporting or executing process development projects
• Demonstrated experience creating and modifying P&ID’s
• Background in statistical techniques and financial acumen
• Process measurement and improvement technique experience and process design experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
• Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Requirements
• Background in controls and automation
• Proven leadership in process improvements – Lean, Six Sigma, SWOT
• Ability to develop Standard Operating Procedures
• Skilled in modifying/updating Historian & Visualization software tags
• Proficient in troubleshooting online with Process Equipment, PLCs, VFDs, Servos, HMIs, & Network Switches
• Familiarity with ISO certification processes
• Knowledge of Management of Change and PSM programs
• Demonstrated success implementing 5S
• Track record of leading capital projects exceeding $100K
• Ability to read & interpret electrical & network diagrams
• SAP proficiency

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $95,000 - $110,000.In addition to your salary, H.B.
