Site Plan - Designer

Position Overview

The Site Plan - Designer will coordinate with the Design Manager to facilitate the preparation of site plans, floor plans, and building elevations that meet the requirements of the Real Estate and Construction Departments as set forth by the Operations Team. In addition, the person in this role will distribute the prototype plans that are used by the construction team in the field. This role will assist outside consultants in the development of sites to ensure the accurate execution of the plans. This role is responsible for supporting all teams mentioned above by planning, organizing, and being a liaison between all teams through thorough communication and correspondence.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil / Architecture or a minimum of 4 years related experience to the understanding and design of QSR restaurants and services, required; previous A&E firm experience preferred

• 3 years of experience in civil/architectural design required

• Understanding of products and materials used in the construction process to determine durability, cost, ease of use, and maintenance advantages during the life of the building

• Strong knowledge of land use, development processes, building permits, and construction project management is preferred

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and G-Suite.  Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Suite is preferred

• Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to follow through in a self-motivated fashion to meet deadlines

• Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills along with impromptu problem-solving skills

• Travel up to approx. 50%

• This position requires driving

Location Requirement:

This position is required to be in Phoenix, AZ, and requires four days in office a week.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Assist in the review of plans submitted by Architects, Legacy Franchisees, and Developers in a timely fashion. Track submittal and completion dates of all required documents under the department's care:

• Assists with the dissemination of information to act as roadmap for company and franchise partner development 

• Tracks and logs all site plans submitted by Franchisees and Real Estate Team, and assists in the review of the documents in a prescribed time frame 

• May use field time to continue the education of Franchisees and Operating Partners in effective design and plan use

• Provides timely and accurate project status updates on all development activities to management and stakeholders on regular basis

Collaborate on the production and release of Prototype Plans to outside consultants, facilitating changes driven by operations. Ensure plans are up to date per direction of the VP of Design and Construction:

• Collaborates on project design, including assisting with development expectations for projects to ensure they are completed in accordance with established quality standards and time frames established by Dutch Bros

• Tracks and logs the disbursement, controls and use of Dutch Bros proprietary designs and intellectual property as it pertains to development. Ensuring that each project is using the latest designs that meet the operational needs of the brand

• Participates in discussions, symposiums and meetings to maintain continual communication with HQ and to make them aware of any concerns related to the building designs, misuse of company documents or other areas requiring immediate attention

• At times offer field support on various projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or provide Construction Management support where needed 

• Able to respond to verbal and written communication from all contacts in a professional and timely fashion

• Works with construction, Ops support, Administration and pre-opening support to ensure a smooth, timely and successful store openings

• Maintain all the documentations related to architectural designs and construction conditions

• Involvement in professional industry organizations to stay current on design techniques as an opportunity to implement the latest design trends

Foster relationships with various professionals in the industry including Architects, Vendors, Suppliers, Communities, Government Official, and Landlords in a manner consistent with DB Values:

• Coordinates the review of plans developed by outside consultants to identify concerns and ensure brand and trademark compliance, as well as Best Management Practices and Designs 

• Closely interacts with architecture and design teams to ensure plan development process is timely and that the Franchisees and Operating Partners stay on their development timeline

• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculators, copy machines, computers, and office equipment

Compensation:

$72,865.23 - DOE
