JOB PURPOSE
The Site Leader is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of the truck dispatch plans created by the Dispatch Team. This role directly supervises truck drivers, overseeing their performance, conduct, and adherence to company regulations. In addition, the Site Leader is accountable for the condition and care of the trucks at the site, ensuring cleanliness, timely reporting of damages, and coordination of maintenance requirements.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execution of Dispatch Plans
- Implement and oversee the daily and weekly truck dispatch schedules as planned by the Dispatch Team.
- Ensure drivers follow assigned routes, schedules, and instructions accurately.
- Monitor progress and address operational issues to keep execution aligned with the plan.
- Driver Supervision
- Directly manage truck drivers, ensuring professional appearance, behavior, and compliance with company policies.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards.
- Conduct regular checks on driver performance and adherence to safety regulations.
- Fleet Oversight
- Ensure trucks under site responsibility are kept clean and presentable.
- Monitor and report damages, accidents, or irregularities promptly.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and preventive servicing.
- Compliance & Safety
- Enforce adherence to transportation regulations, including driver hours-of-service and safety protocols.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability among drivers.
- Conduct site-level inspections to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Reporting & Communication
- Provide feedback to the Dispatch Team on execution challenges, driver performance, and fleet condition.
- Report on site-level operational performance, compliance issues, and incidents to senior management.
- Maintain clear communication channels between drivers, dispatchers, and management.
QUALIFICATION
- Experience in Import/Export Trucking, logistics, or fleet operations.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to supervise drivers.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
