Valiant Integrated Services is seeking a Site Lead in the AFRICOM AOR to provide operational, administrative, and management oversight to all Valiant and subcontractor linguists in the assigned area of operation. 


 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day actions to ensure Valiant is providing quality service and support to the customer in the assigned area of operations.
  • Communicate any new changes, requirements, concerns, and issues to the Task Order Program Manager
  • Ensure that all customer requests are forwarded to the Task Order Program Manager and the customer is maintained aware of the request status
  • Conduct daily meetings with the customer to ensure that expectations are appropriately managed and that all requirements defined by the SOW are met.
  • Coordinate with the customer to support employee schedules and travel
  • Ensure the employee health, morale, and welfare requirements are met
  • Ensure employees adhere to established customer regulations and standards of conduct
  • Ensure that employees adhere to work schedule and all administrative procedures and requirements
  • Handle administrative matters concerning the linguists

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in management or a related field
  • Three years of management experience (military or civilian)
  • Military experience achieving a grade of E-8 or higher
  • Familiar with military customs, courtesies, and procedures 
  • Computer literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI 
  • Experience managing linguist personnel is preferred.

Additional requirements:

  • Required Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) –The selected candidate must be in possession of the necessary level of Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) as specified in the job descriptions or eligible to qualify for the same.
  • Fit for Duty – The selected candidate must undergo an extensive medical examination to be certified medically fit for duty in the work assignment location. Similarly, the selected candidate must undergo a dental exam to be certified that there are no foreseeable imminent dental issues. And the selected candidate must be vaccinated according to the required immunizations for the Area of Operation of the work assignment or able and willing to receive the required immunizations prior to deployment to the work assignment location.
  • Must have sufficient unaided hearing to perform duties safely, hear and wake up to emergency alarms unaided, and hear instructions in the absence of visual cues such as lip reading. If an applicant does not meet this requirement, Speech Recognition in Noise Test (SPRINT) or equivalent testing is required along with an approved waiver pursuant to CENTCOM MOD 18, Section 15, TAB A.
  • Must be able to work under stressful circumstances and meet short suspense dates.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be free of medical restrictions/ limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/ or prevent the wearing and utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, and blowing sand and dust.
  • May be required to work on uncommon hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employees shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, crawl, and climb as necessary to perform job functions using proper techniques and PPE for extended periods unassisted.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or a related field
  • Three years of military or civilian management experience
  • Military experience at the E-8 grade or higher
  • Familiarity with military customs, courtesies, and procedures
  • Computer literacy and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience managing linguist personnel

  • Ability to pass medical and dental examinations, meet vaccination requirements, and be certified fit for duty
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and meet short suspense dates
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, blowing sand, and dust
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and uncommon duty hours
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, and climb for extended periods while using required PPE
