Our Team
Our Air Mobility Solutions team creates, develops and deploys air management systems that are critical for safe aircraft movement. With products covering 40% of the world’s airspace, we enable the safe take-off and landing of 2 in 3 aircrafts globally. We offer the opportunity to work on complex systems that push what’s possible in air traffic management including drone technology with room to grow in both technical and team-leading roles.
Your Role
As an On-site Integrator Engineer you will take end-to-end ownership of platform deployment, integration, and validation for critical systems.
This is a permanent full-time position and involves regular travel across Australia to deploy and integrate subsystems at customer sites.
This hands-on, technical role involves:
- Onsite hardware and software deployment (racks, switches, servers) and troubleshooting
- Automating deployments using Ansible, Jenkins, Python, and CI/CD pipelines
- Validating Thales-developed operating systems and subsystems before handover to validation teams
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (network, cybersecurity, DevOps) to resolve complex issues
- Ensuring compliance with functional, performance, security, and robustness requirements
- Ideal for engineers who enjoy fixing systems, automating workflows, and thriving in dynamic environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and validate Thales operating systems and subsystems on-site
- Ensure seamless integration of 6-8 subsystems into Thales-developed environments
- Conduct integration testing, performance assessments, and security checks
- Resolve Linux/Unix, Windows, and virtualized environment issues (VMWare, Proxmox)
- Use Wireshark, Zabbix, and scripting (Python/Shell) for diagnostics
- Leverage Ansible playbooks, CI/CD pipelines, and Git for efficient deployments
- Automate system administration tasks and test/measurement tools
- Work with hardware teams, validation teams, and remote support to ensure system readiness
- Produce integration test reports, risk assessments, and knowledge-sharing artifacts
- Uphold Thales’ OHSE policies
Your Experience
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
- 2+ years integrating complex software-centric real-time systems
- Linux/Unix expertise (VMWare, SNMP, RSYSLOG) and Windows administration
- Scripting (Python, Shell) and automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins).
- Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP) and debugging tools
- Experience with C++, Java, or Go
- Familiarity AI-driven automation highly regarded
- Problem-solving mindset, you thrive in dynamic, on-site environments
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to diverse stakeholders
- Team player to collaborate across global teams with a curious and accountable approach
- Domestic travel is mandatory as part of the role
