About the Role:

The Site Head Operations role will possess a unique combination of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, production efficiency and environmental compliance. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on management. The applicant will have a consistent record in leading production facilities, preferably in the beverage, spirits, or related industries. 

Oversee Daily Operations:

  • Lead all aspects of the processes, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure smooth coordination across all departments to guarantee a seamless flow of operations.

Safety Management:

  • Lead and implement all site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with legal, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across all teams and ensure continuous safety training.

Quality Control & Assurance:

  • Ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards through strict adherence to quality assurance systems and regular inspections.
  • Address any quality deviations or non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulations related to product quality.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, empower, and develop production teams, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and career progression.
  • Provide guidance and direction to department managers and supervisors, ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
  • Facilitate training programs and continuous development initiatives for staff.

Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive operational excellence by implementing process improvements, improving production workflows, and optimizing resource usage.
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to identify areas for improvement and increase production efficiency.
  • Supervise and analyze performance data (critical metrics) to find opportunities for process optimization.

Financial & Resource Management:

  • Manage the site’s operational budget, ensuring cost control without compromising on quality or safety.
  • Oversee resource allocation, ensuring accurate and efficient staffing, equipment maintenance, and raw materials availability.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures across the production processes.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure the site adheres to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding production, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare and deliver regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting important metrics, operational challenges, and areas for improvement.

Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership to align operational goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all partners, including external suppliers, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Supply Chain, Maintenance, R&D) to ensure that production schedules are met and issues are resolved promptly.

Problem Resolution & Risk Management:

  • Address and resolve operational challenges, such as equipment breakdowns, production delays, and supply chain disruptions, in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identify operational risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship:

  • Lead initiatives to ensure that operations are sustainable and environmentally aligned to the SoP goals.
  • Supervise waste management practices and resource usage, driving efforts to minimize the environmental impact of the site’s operations.

Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages: 

  • Experience setting up process and manufacturing strategies.   

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a department manager with proven leadership skills. 

  • Typically educated to degree standard in chemical engineering, food chemical or relevant equivalent and or science related.  

  • Good knowledge of Quality systems implementation and improvement tools such as; TPM, ManEx, Six Sigma, etc. 

  • Experience receiving audits from local and external entities and setting actions to improve the working systems.   

  • Production planning and staff shift management knowledge. 

  • Influencing and leadership skills .

  • English and Spanish sophisticated skills.
