We are currently looking for a passionate and dynamic individual to join our Procter & Gamble Cape Girardeau, MO Baby care Site Engineering organization as the Baby care Site Power Systems Technical Engineering Leader.

The Baby care Site Engineering organization is responsible for the ongoing optimization of Offline systems and the Facilities and Utilities that enable world class Diaper manufacturing. This is accomplished by a dedicated team of engineers that evaluate current systems and look for breakthrough approaches to maximize their effectiveness and efficiency as well as upgrade to the latest state of the art approaches.

Job Description

The Site Power Systems Technical Engineering Leader is responsible for the Power Systems which includes all equipment and systems between the power company and the in-plant process modules. Within the core-process area power systems also include: Power Quality, Large motors, PF compensation and Electrical safety.

Key deliverable for this role is to provide Power Systems technical support and leadership for the Cape Baby care site. This supports and compliments the resident capabilities of the site ESO(s) and their contract engineering organizations. This resource links the Cape site to Regional Power Systems Network and the Global Power Systems Network (GPSN) and enables effective leveraging of P&G’s Global capabilities and resources.

The Site Engineering Power Systems Technical Engineer reports functionally to the Director of Cape Baby care Site Engineering, with a technical link to the Baby Care ICA. The Site Engineering Power Systems Technical Engineer is linked technically to the Global Power Systems Owner.

The Site Engineering Power Systems Technical Engineer works closely with the Electrical System Owners (ESO’s) in the plant to ensure timely and efficient involvement in the project front-end, and quick involvement on problems with systems and equipment. The Cape Baby care Site Engineering Power Systems Technical Engineer drives deployment of new methods, practices and technology via the Site, a regional network and in collaboration with the Global Power Section.

The Cape Baby care Site Engineering Power Systems Technical Engineer drives deployment of new methods, practices and technology via the Site, a regional network and in collaboration with the Global Power Section.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • A person with an engineering degree from an accredited University OR significant work experience (3+ years) in electrical power system technology. This person should have passion for this type of technical work. Preference is for candidate to have working experience with power delivery equipment and systems. Knowledgeable of P&G's electrical safety program would be considered a plus.
  • Candidates must be capable and willing to profitably apply their engineering expertise on various and multiple projects to meet the business need as regards to power systems. They should have construction experience and be able to recognize poor installations (and relate those findings to relative codes governing the electrical installations.) Persons with existing qualification as Electrical System Owner or qualified Electrical Auditor will be strongly considered.
  • Working experience with low voltage substation application and installation is desired. Experience with medium voltage switchgear design and installation is also recommended. Experience supporting power systems projects or Heavy electrical installation is important. Experience with medium voltage motors, and motor protective relays is a plus but not required.
  • Technical understanding and working experience with the various codes and regulations in NA is required. The ability to locate and use other county codes is needed as well as the ability to functionally understand their intent. Become familiar with local and regional standards regarding electrical safety codes EN 50110 and NFPA 70E. You must have the ability to take ownership and contribute to multiple P&G Power and Control Practices.
  • Candidates will be expected to be able to learn to run software to calculate short circuit currents and flash hazard levels. Working experience performing or reviewing these types of studies is desirable. The candidate must be comfortable using a computer and various software programs like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and collaboration software (ie., Sharepoint, Teams, etc). Specifically knowledge/experience in the following;a. Power tools for Windows by SKM (P&G Preferred) b. Easy Powerc. Etap
  • Ability to relocate to the Cape Girardeau, Missouri area

  • Extensive experience in power delivery equipment application and design experience. Ability to evaluate construction techniques and develop good cost effective recommendations which will impact overall project cost. Evaluate vendor technical offerings and correctly select the best technical solutions for the application based upon customer needs. You will develop a customer support mind set and develop the ability to anticipate needs even when not asked.
