SWK Technologies is committed to optimizing the technological landscape for businesses through customized software solutions and superior technical support. We are looking for a dedicated On-Site Engineer to join our team, providing hands-on assistance to our clients and ensuring their systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

In this role, you will be the face of SWK Technologies to our clients, delivering top-tier technical support and solutions on-site. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing installations and upgrades, and assisting clients with any technical queries they may have. You will be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction, and your expertise will help to foster long-lasting relationships with our clients. If you are a technically skilled individual who enjoys working directly with customers and resolving technical challenges, we would love to hear from you.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for walk-up, phone, and ticketed support requests.
  • Support peripherals and printers, including print queues and drivers, docking stations, monitors, and scanners.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle: new-hire workstation builds, equipment returns, and repairs or part replacement.
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant, including user management, licensing, password resets, and OneDrive and SharePoint access.
  • Own first-level troubleshooting of published applications delivered through Parallels, escalating with complete diagnostic detail.
  • Maintain the building's network, including switches, wireless access points, and basic firewall changes.
  • Keep documentation current for IT hardware, deployed software packages, and network configuration.

Requirements

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Networking: Assigning IP addresses, applying basic firewall changes, and using troubleshooting tools to distinguish a local problem from a network-wide one.
  • Hardware: Installing RAM, drives, fans, and power supplies; diagnosing failing hardware; comfortable opening a laptop or desktop to replace parts.
  • Software: Installing, uninstalling, updating, and repairing desktop applications; managing drivers and Windows updates; resolving common client-side issues with Microsoft 365 and line-of-business apps; recognizing when a problem is configuration or permissions rather than the application itself.
  • Identity and access: Managing user accounts in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including password resets, MFA enrollment and device changes, license assignment, and managing group or shared mailbox membership.
  • Troubleshooting: Defining the scope of a problem, identifying what changed, and testing and documenting one variable at a time.
  • Professionalism: Explaining technical concepts to non-technical users, staying patient under pressure, documenting work clearly, and using discretion with confidential access.

Preferred, Not Required

  • Industry standard certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft AZ-900, etc.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and configuring resources in Azure.
  • Experience with Parallels RAS, Citrix, or similar VDI environments.
