The ConnectSydney team are on the hunt for an enthusiastic Site Engineer to join our Rockdale office!

About the Role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.

The ConnectSydney team are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and energetic Site Engineer to join our team at our Rockdale office. The Site Engineer will be responsible for the scheduling activities on projects including, producing, and updating schedules and providing ongoing scheduling support to assist in the achievement of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up schedules for projects in addition to updating of schedules and reporting progress against baseline.
  • Responsible for developing and presenting budgets to project manager for approval.
  • Delivering of works within approved budgets
  • Ensure timesheets are properly completed and authorised in a timely manner.
  • Weekly, fortnightly and monthly report input as required.
  • Manage and control budget associated with relevant scope of work, cost control in accordance with the Work Breakdown Structure and forecasting of revenue and cost to complete for monthly reporting.
  • Review and implement project wide quality documentation
  • Plan, manage, and implement the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site specific and contract requirements are met.
  • Ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, community, industrial, safety and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained on site.
  • Liaise with Client, manage subcontractors and Suppliers on project site issues and organise/manage meetings as required.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal management to ensure your projects and sub-contractors are adequately supervised.
  • Liaise and coordinate with all external parties and relevant statutory authorities and manage their works and attendance on site as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain all quality records covering the full scope of project works for submission to the client upon project completion.

About You:

  • Proven experience in civil construction
  • Familiar with commercial, contractual and financial aspects of projects.
  • Familiar with Transport for NSW specifications
  • Good command of MS Project and/or similar software.
  • Understand the schedule sequencing and logical linkages between activities.
  • Implementation of earned value analysis.
  • Familiar with activities involved in setting up project teams and site establishment relating to multidiscipline projects.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role
  • Demonstrated understanding of planning scheduling functions.
