The Role
Job Title:Site EHS Leader

Summary:The EHS Leader has overall responsibility for all aspects of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at the Garrett plant site. The Garrett site employs over 80 associates and contractors. This role actively advises the site leader and the plant management on the effective implementation of all relevant laws, regulations, and permit requirements regarding occupational and plant safety and health and environmental protection. This role shall further develop the EHS management systems at the site and introduce programs for continuous improvement of EHS performance, including safety culture and safe practices.
Please note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide ownership and leadership for all EHS management systems at the Garrett Site including all EHS related standards, work processes, performance metrics, programs and initiatives for the sites.
  • Actively champion the Garrett Site culture improvement initiative. Partner with the Site Leader to implement lasting cultural change.
  • Maintain and strengthen the site’s license to operate (EHS performance, compliance and community reputation).
  • Serve as the primary focal point for interactions with outside regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, US EPA).
  • Effectively leverage Global EHS resources to ensure that best practices are shared and implemented at the Garrett Site in a timely manner.
  • Ensure EHS work processes, standards and procedures are effectively implemented within the sites through clarity of role assignment and effective EHS training. Own overall EHS training content at the site.
  • Ensure that the Management of Change process for EHS is effectively completed.
  • Lead incident reduction efforts; including incident reviews and proactive scenario-based audits.
  • Key member of the site leader’s extended staff.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • BS Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years’ EHS experience in chemical/industrial environment.
  • To be successful this role must have an individual who demonstrates strong personal leadership.
  • The leader must have delivered sustainable results in improving EH&S performance in their career.
  • Strong influencing and decision-making skills; ability to coach all levels of the site organization.
  • Proven experience creating an empowered culture.
  • Excellent communications skills with both internal and external personnel. · Demonstrated leadership ability, in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and drive significant performance and process improvements
    Preferred
     
  • Environmental and/or Safety Related Certifications

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $81,500 - $119,350

The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
