Step into a senior leadership role at Essity’s Private Label manufacturing site in Neuss, Germany, the largest site within the Private Label Division, with approximately 500 employees. We are looking for a Site Director who provides strong leadership, creates clarity and stability across the organization and steers the site through cultural and operational transformation.
As a key strategic contributor to the Consumer Tissue Business Unit, you will play a central role in driving our ambition to become the winning experts in Private Label Consumer Tissue in Europe. This role suits a leader who engages people, builds trust and sets a clear direction in a dynamic and evolving environment.
About the Role
As Site Director, you hold overall responsibility for the Neuss site across production, quality, safety, supply chain and people leadership. You will play a central role in supporting the site’s shift from a long‑established branded environment into a more performance‑driven Private Label setup.
You will represent the site within Essity’s broader Operations network and lead a management team that has evolved significantly in recent years. Your focus will be to build alignment, strengthen collaboration and establish a clear and consistent leadership approach that supports long‑term development.
What You Will Do
Lead the site with full accountability for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale, ensuring consistent and reliable performance.
Provide clear, steady leadership that helps employees understand expectations and maintain focus.
Build, develop, and align the Site Leadership Team (SLT), fostering trust, collaboration, and strong teamwork.
Translate business requirements and market expectations into practical, understandable actions for the site.
Guide the cultural shift toward a performance‑oriented Private Label mindset.
Communicate openly and clearly with employees at all levels, including in broader group settings.
Enhance cross‑functional collaboration along the entire PLD value chain by bringing together Commercial, Finance, HR, Product Development, Quality, and Safety to drive aligned decisions and seamless ways of working
Ensure a reliable on‑site presence appropriate for a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Represent the site internally and externally as a trusted and credible operational leader.
Who You Are
You have 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
You are a people‑focused leader who motivates experts, builds trust, and provides clarity during phases of change.
You bring a stable career history and are looking for a long‑term role where you can provide continuity and leadership over several years.
You lead technical experts effectively, even without being a technical specialist yourself.
You are skilled at managing different personalities and adapting your leadership style to create alignment in a complex team environment.
You have experience working with Works Councils or employee representative bodies, ideally within established employee‑representation structures
You communicate clearly and confidently, including when expectations evolve or when sensitive topics need to be addressed.
You already live in the Neuss/Düsseldorf region, or you are willing to relocate nearby to ensure a dependable on‑site presence.
You are resilient, pragmatic, and steady able to maintain direction and focus in a demanding environment.
You are fluent in German and English at business level.
