We are looking for a talented Site Customer Quality Assurance Engineer – Senior to join our team specializing in QUALITY for CUMMINS in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. (100% On site role).
Job Summary:
Supports the assigned site to advocate for customers in resolving product quality and process quality related issues. Understands and translates internal and external customer's expectations and quality requirements to integrate this into product quality planning, evaluation, and control.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead customer complaints response on time and customer meetings.
- Engineering Product Changes communication with customers, Customer PPAP’s follow up.
- Management presentations support to share quality metrics: External / Internal PPMs, customer complaint response time.
- Develops, articulates, and translates customers' expectations and requirements for Site Quality.
- Uses Customer Centric metrics to prioritize customer quality requirements and issues and makes recommendations on prioritization of Site Quality resources.
- Acts as a primary contact to the customer site level.
- Responsible for applicable systems related to plant customer issues such as corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, nonconforming material reports, etc.
- Leads containment activities.
- Facilitate continuous improvement in quality activities to reduce the potential for defects and ensure continual improvement in process.
- Ensures products and process development meet quality standards and site related customer specific requirements.
- Identifies problems, prioritizes actions, leads, or participates in Six Sigma projects/continuous improvement.
- Leads quality audits.
- Serves as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.
- Couches and mentor customer quality practices with less experienced team members.
- Supervise quality technical inspectors of the Product Test Cleanliness Laboratory
- Supports Safe Launch Initiatives through Value Package Introduction (VPI).
- Promote and support talent development within the team, fostering technical growth and accountability.
- Applies AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) core tools.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related
- Minimum of 5 years in Quality Engineering within the automotive industry, preferred in Customer Quality Engineering.
- Knowledge in Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP)
- Knowledge in IATF 16949 audits
- Advanced English (written, spoken, and reading).
- Strong Problem Solving (7-steps, FTAs, RCAs)
Preferred (Desirable):
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
- Desirable supervisory or leadership experience
