Job Description
The Site Characterization Work Group Leader will oversee geological, geotechnical, geophysical, hydrological, and topographical investigations for superstructure projects, ensuring compliance with international and local standards. This position involves managing subcontractors, leading site engineering teams, and delivering high-quality, client-focused results.
This role reports directly to the Operation Manager and requires interaction with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of site characterization projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead and manage site characterization projects, particularly in the renewable power sector.
- Ensure technical research aligns with client and industry standards.
- Prepare method statements, factual, and interpretative reports for site investigations.
Subcontractor & Team Leadership
- Effectively manage subcontractors and site engineering teams.
- Coordinate activities and allocate resources to meet project deadlines.
Technical Expertise
- Oversee investigations in geological, geotechnical, geophysical, hydrological, and topographical studies.
- Approve final procedures/methods in compliance with local and international standards.
Health, Safety, and Quality
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety rules.
- Promote continuous improvement of the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management system.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geological and/or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical research and site characterization projects.
- Familiarity with topographical and hydrological studies is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
- Availability to make site visits.
- Advanced-level English proficiency, both verbal and written.
