Illumina Singapore is Illumina’s only manufacturing facility outside of the US, and the Asia Pacific headquarters for numerous business functions. Position Summary
As Singapore Grant Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the identification, optimization and administration of Illumina’s government grants and incentives related to manufacturing and R&D activities in Singapore. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Global Operations and R&D, Site and Corporate Finance, to support senior management in identifying and submitting grant applications and managing the cash reimbursement. This role reports to Head of APAC Tax.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Job duties include but not limited to: -
- Maintain direct contact with senior management on site operations and R&D activities, and capitalize on new grants opportunities
- Support strategic discussions and lead tactical discussions with EDB and other agencies on grant and incentive applications, project submission and cash recovery
- Ensure accuracy and accountability for the entire grant and incentive planning process
- Partner with APAC General Accounting team and FP&A partners on grant accruals and forecasting
- Provide regular status updates and reporting to senior executives and management on project milestones and status on cash recovery
- Ensure compliance of all aspects of grant and incentive, and where necessary, seek remediation with the relevant authorities
- Establish and maintain relationship with key stakeholders in government agencies and statutory boards

Preferred Background:
- 5-7 years of experience working with EDB and other government agencies on incentive and grant opportunities
- 3-5 years of accounting/finance/tax experience preferably in MNCs and/or Big 4 firms
- Prior experience in working with external auditors on grant audit and tax incentivized company
- Life science and/or manufacturing industries experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies
- Ability to make decisions, handle unforeseen issues and effectively deal with ambiguity
- Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
