Airbus Defence and Space is enlarging its Virtual Reality @ Simulation team and is therefore looking for a

 

Software Engineer VR (d/f/m)

You will help our team to develop Extended Reality (XR = VR, AR, MR) applications for training and development simulators. Your responsibility will be to develop and maintain XR software, integrate XR hardware and tools and improve the modeling quality of the virtual 3D environments.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Design, development and maintenance of Virtual Reality (VR) software for simulation applications

  • Integration of simulation models into VR applications

  • Test, Validation & Verification of Virtual Reality simulation software and components

  • Analysis of reported issues, implementation, integration and testing of according fixes

  • Support simulator operation and pilot assessment sessions

  • Documentation of the appropriate software modules according to the existing company processes

 

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor or higher degree in computer science, games engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or a related disciplines

  • At least 3 years of relevant software developer experience related to VR and Game Engines

  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies desired

  • Proactive way of working and team-orientation

  • Good English written and spoken, any other language is an asset

  • Readiness to travel (mainly within the EU)

  • Object orientated programming and scripting languages, in particular C#, C++, bash, python

  • Game/rendering engines (Unity, Unreal, Image Generators etc.) and 3D Modelling toolchains (Blender, Maya, SketchUp ...)

  • Shader technologies (HLSL, ShaderGraph etc.)

  • Atlassian tool stack (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, groovy, docker, ansible, Nexus etc.)
