Simulation Engineer

We seek a Simulation Engineer based out of our office at 700 25th Avenue Bellwood, Illinois 60104. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position requires domestic travel, as needed, up to 10%.

Responsibilities include: conduct discrete event simulation for future state scenarios to resources; collect date from systems and complete data validation with statistical analysis; develop simulation models for what if scenarios using Plant Simulation; create process plan to achieve required TAKT time for powertrain manufacturing; conduct time studies and line balancing for mixed model production line; implement lean manufacturing, Just in Time and SMED concepts on assembly processes; perform material flow analysis, design and planning for machining layouts; provide regular status updates and participates in team planning sessions; develop customer presentations and reports; data acquisition from external files and systems; dodel optimization techniques; and Analysis of Variance, Variance Reduction, Neural Networks, and Distributed Simulation. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or electrical engineering and 36 months of experience in job offered or closely related.

Required experience must include: Automotive manufacturing processes including simulation, assembly, machining, and fabrication; experience with assembly process planning and lean manufacturing; experience with Plant Simulation software from Siemens Tecnomatix; experience with object oriented programing; experience with statistical data analysis, production systems, operation research and material management.

Note, this position requires domestic travel, as needed, up to 10%.
