High Point University is seeking a full time Siegfried Leadership Program Associate, dedicated to working with students while fulfilling administrative roles associated with the Siegfried Leadership Fellowship Program. High Point University’s Siegfried Leadership Fellowship Program is an innovative experience designed to educate and empower college students to learn about themselves, understand others, be civically engaged, and maximize their personal and professional success. Siegfried students receive a scholarship renewable annually based on academic performance and continued participation in the program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in leadership studies or a related field from an accredited institution, preferred, but not required
Experience and Training
- One to two years of leader or leadership development experience, preferred
- Experience in institutions of higher education and developing college/university-level students
- Certifications in leadership assessments are a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Ability
- Project management and event planning
- Knowledge of leadership and leadership development theory and application, preferred
- Experience with college/university-level students in preparing them for the professional world after graduation
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport not only with students, but also staff, faculty, and community and professional leaders
- Outstanding professional communication and writing skills
- Strong technology and social media skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills for small groups and large audiences
- Familiarity with Blackboard software system preferred
- Ability to work well in an assorted environment; strong student advocacy with proven ability to work with an assorted population
- Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Outlook, and databases
- An exemplary “can do” attitude that will lead to excellent customer service
- A commitment to being a team player who adjusts to changing work environments and organizational priorities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the Executive Director, Directors and Co-Directors (Directors) in planning, implementing, and managing programs, leadership development opportunities and experiences for the Siegfried Fellows
- Develop, plan and administer the Siegfried Leadership Fellows Awards and other award programs
- Assist the Directors with the Siegfried fellowship courses, including helping students in the Siegfried Fellowship program with the exploration of their leadership in the classroom, through individual one-on-one appointments, advising sessions and in group/team settings, facilitating lessons, lectures, and experiences, coordinating speakers, and assessing students’ engagement
- Manage mentoring opportunities for students in the Siegfried Fellowship program. This includes supporting the Directors and Co-Directors responsibilities for mentorship.
- Assist the Executive Director in recruitment, selection, and retention efforts for the Siegfried program. This includes:
- Participate in and coordinate representation for the Siegfried Fellowship program at High Point University Open House and Admission Events, and similar opportunities. Represent HPU as needed during other special events, which could include Family Weekends, Orientation, and Early Registration. These events often occur nights and/or weekends
- Review of program applications, and contributing to the decision-making for Siegfried Fellowship program offers
- Manage and deliver welcome letters and expectation forms
- Monitor students’ qualifications for program continuation, including advising students, sending appropriate notification of status and warnings, etc. This communication will encourage students’ academic and personal success, and their continuation in the Siegfried Fellowship program
- Promote and manage communication regarding the Siegfried Fellowship program, current students and alumni, in regular email communications and appropriate social media posts. Oversee all communication media on behalf of the Siegfried Fellowship, including marketing of the various leadership programs through the development of flyers, brochures, and press releases, representing the office at various functions, and emails
- Be responsive to emails, queries, questions, and concerns, from Siegfried Fellowship students pertaining to all aspects of the program, including grading of assignments
- Help the Executive Director in managing the collection, organization, and display of a wide range of leadership knowledge, opportunities, and resources, from employers, educational institutions, business, industry, and community
- Foster civic mindedness and engagement by facilitating service opportunities for all Siegfried Leadership students: freshman through senior year.
- Possess ability to work effectively with all facets of the university, including an assorted student population, faculty in all departments, staff, and other administrators
- Establish and strengthen relationships with community partners locally, domestically, and internationally who want to be involved in the program through networking events, mentoring, and coaching opportunities, presentations and talks, career/organization treks, and the like
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee social and experiential events and programs from beginning to end, including planning, budgeting, and other essential administrative work
- Assist with the development of presentations and programs for the Siegfried Leadership Fellowship program
- Mentor, coach, and supervise student workers, as needed.
- Support Directors as they coach students on how to develop and leverage a leadership brand through professional resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interviews, and networking
- Contribute to university initiatives and committee meetings as needed
- Develop programming, in coordination with the Directors, that strengthens students’ preparation to be leaders at High Point University and beyond
- Develop, support, maintain and analyze data about use, interest, and value of presentations, one-on-one appointments, coaching, mentoring and programs for the purposes of reporting data/statistics for both internal and external audiences
- Contribute to the compilation and analysis of statistical and evaluative data
- Develop and deliver bi-annual reports based on collected data
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, faculty, students’ parents, co-workers, and others
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
- Provide high quality, impactful coaching, and personal development to students in the Siegfried Leadership Fellowship program
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Reports to the Executive Director, with a dotted reporting line to Dean, David S. Congdon School of Entrepreneurship
