Position: Solution Designer
Role Overview
The Solution Designer is responsible for designing end‑to‑end
technology solutions that align with business requirements, enterprise
standards, policies, and best practices. This role bridges business needs and
technical delivery by producing clear, scalable, secure, and user‑centred
solution designs that support complex, mission‑critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design
hosting and application technology solutions based on service
specifications, standards, policies, best practices, and cost models.
- Gather,
analyze, and document business requirements, information technology
mandates, and strategic plans.
- Translate
business needs into solution designs, application flows, and technical
specifications.
- Provide
guidance on short‑ and long‑term solution development and service
improvement initiatives.
- Prepare
detailed technical documentation to support system installation, testing,
and performance validation.
- Assess
performance and capacity of existing systems and recommend enhancements or
improvements.
- Support
planning, migration, implementation, and sustainment of large, complex
system initiatives.
- Ensure
solutions meet security, recovery, usability, accessibility, and
performance requirements.
- Collaborate
with business stakeholders, developers, testers, and project teams to
ensure successful solution delivery.
- Work
onsite during standard business hours, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications & Skills
General & Technical Skills
- Strong
knowledge of integrated networking technologies, enterprise servers,
storage solutions, and system infrastructure.
- Experience
designing large, complex, highly available, mission‑critical application
solutions.
- Knowledge
of security, recovery, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity
with project management methodologies such as PMBOK.
- Strong
analytical and conceptual skills, including cost/benefit analysis and
solution evaluation.
- Excellent
communication, problem‑solving, collaboration, and decision‑making skills.
Experience & Skill Set Requirements
Technical Solution & Development Skills (40%)
- 7+
years of experience designing solutions using Oracle Siebel CRM and/or Adobe AEM.
- Experience
developing business design documents, functional and non‑functional
requirements.
- Experience
creating high‑level application flows and functional design documentation.
- Experience
producing detailed process flows and screen designs aligned to business
processes.
- Strong
experience with user experience design and accessibility standards
(WCAG/AODA).
- Experience
conducting user research and usability testing.
- Experience
developing user personas and user journey maps.
- Experience
analyzing user feedback and designing solutions to address user pain
points.
- Experience
creating wireframes and high‑fidelity mockups using tools such as Figma or
Adobe XD.
- Demonstrated
experience creating use cases, documenting business rules, and managing
solution risks.
- Experience
creating quality assurance plans and writing test cases.
- Experience
with Oracle Policy Automation / Oracle Intelligent Advisor is a strong
asset.
Technology Skills (35%)
- 7+
years of experience in Siebel and Adobe AEM solution implementation.
- Experience
with change management methodologies.
- Experience
documenting test strategies, scenarios, and user acceptance testing plans.
- Experience
creating and maintaining business architecture artefacts.
- Experience
working with Rational Unified Process (RUP).
- Experience
developing CRUD matrices, screen flows, and application visibility models.
- Ability
to translate workflows into wireframes and prototypes.
Soft Skills (20%)
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability
to present ideas clearly and propose innovative solution approaches.
- Proven
ability to work collaboratively in large, cross‑functional teams.
- Strong
analytical thinking and systematic problem‑solving abilities.

Public Sector Experience (5%)
- Experience
with public‑sector transfer payment (grant) models is an asset.
- Experience
ensuring compliance with corporate quality assurance standards is an
asset.
