The position:

We are looking for a Ship Agency Operator to join our Ships Agency division. In this role, you will be responsible for attending and coordinating vessels within your scope, ensuring compliance with processes, standards, and procedures. Your work will directly impact the safety and efficiency of the ships we manage, ensuring we continue to exceed customer expectations.

 

Who you are:

You are an experienced Ship Agency Operator or have a solid understanding of the shipping industry, port regulations, and procedures. With a strong focus on health and safety, you work independently and are driven to get the job done right. You’re reliable, organized, and always ready to tackle challenges. Your ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently will make you a valuable asset to our team.

 

Required experience and skills:

  • Maritime background with experience in Ships Agency Operations.
  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and oral).
  • Proactive with the ability to anticipate issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and make fast, sound judgments.
  • Familiar with port and local authority regulations and procedures.
  • Process and system understanding, with a proactive mindset.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and direct operations safely.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Attend and board vessels as required, in line with SOP and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate assigned port calls and ensure smooth operations.
  • Advise on contractors for goods and services, including competitive quotations.
  • Ensure compliance with port services processes and the use of operating systems (WASP).
  • Monitor vessel operations, report business opportunities, and manage expenses.
  • Proactively manage supplier invoices and ensure cost-effective vessel operations.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, promoting a strong safety culture.
