To be an effective and efficient Soy Oil Shift Production Manager.

Job Description

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for efficient daily shift production activities to assure operations are optimized.
2. The primary activities of this position include the operation of the Production process,
prioritizing and assigning proactive and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting issues and maintaining quality product output.
3. The role also includes activities like repairing, day planning, procuring needed production materials, controlling spare parts inventory for rolls, sifters, purifiers, and other milling equipment.
4. This is a shift people management position and requires managing hands-on training for new and existing millers, ensuring best practice execution and performing work quality checks. A keen understanding of costs and a business acumen to ensure profitability is critical for the


SAFETY AND HEALTH
1. Support safety during Shift production operations
2. Support safety culture during Shift production operations
3. Ensure elimination of unsafe acts, conditions and near miss reporting
4. Ensure strict compliance during shift toolbox talks
5. Ensure strict PPE Compliance during Shift production operations
6. Ensure compliance of 6 imperatives of safety
• Lockout tag out
• Permit to work
• Reporting, recording and review
• Bi-Monthly safety audit compliance
• Workplace inspection and risk assessment
• Driving safety rules

Quality:
1. Ensure agreed quality behaviours amongst the Shift production team
2. Adherence to line settings during Shift
3. Adherence to GMP during Shift
4. Adherence to line clearance during Shift
5. Ensure all the Shift processes are done right first time

SUSTAINABILITY:

1. Record & Report product yield and ensure high product yield and minimum rework during shift.


COST EFFICIENCY:
1. Maintain Shift equipment effectiveness
2. Deliver on Shift production target and product specification
3. Ensure and encourage Autonomous Maintenance during Shift
4. Maintain good rapport with Maintenance Team to achieve acceptable OEE
5. Track and ensure all milling activities such as grinding, extraction, etc that gives the best production during shift.


SHIFT ENABLERS:
1. Full 100% compliance to agreed production targets and production specification
2. Maintaining Team discipline in all its ramifications along the lines
3. Regularly Train and retrain the Shift production team to ensure that lines are maintained in top condition

PROFILE OF NECESSARY COMPETENCIES
• Hands on extraction process, wenger machine will be an added advantage
