Leidos' Chief Information Office, reporting through the Digital Modernization sector, is seeking a SharePoint Platform Lead to serve as the technical authority and transformation leader for the organization’s SharePoint and workflow automation ecosystem. This role will lead the modernization from SharePoint 2016/2019 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) and SharePoint Online, as well as the migration of legacy Nintex workflows to the Microsoft Power Platform.
This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise, platform ownership, and leadership through influence. The successful candidate will define technical direction, lead complex platform and workflow migrations, modernize legacy solutions, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and maintainable collaboration and automation capabilities across the enterprise.
Location: This position offers full time remote work from any US based location.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Technical Authority
Serve as the enterprise technical owner and lead SME for SharePoint (2016/2019, SharePoint SE, and SharePoint Online)
Define and own the target-state architecture for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration services
Establish platform standards, design patterns, and technical direction aligned with business, security, and compliance requirements
Act as the final technical authority for SharePoint architecture, customization, and integration decisions
Migration & Modernization Leadership
Lead and execute the transition from SharePoint 2016/2019 to SharePoint SE and SharePoint Online
Plan and drive content, site, and solution migrations, including:
Legacy customizations
Workflows and forms
Permissions and information architecture
Assess legacy solutions and determine rebuild, refactor, retire, or replace strategies
Ensure migration activities are executed with minimal disruption to business operations
Workflow Modernization & Automation Migration
Lead the migration and modernization of Nintex workflows to the Microsoft Power Platform
Architect and develop Power Automate and Power Apps solutions required to replace or modernize legacy workflows
Define migration standards, reusable patterns, and decision criteria to ensure consistency and maintainability
Ensure migrated workflows align with SharePoint SE and SharePoint Online best practices
Integrate Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft 365 services, and external systems as required
Reduce operational risk by eliminating manual, fragile, or unsupported legacy workflows
Governance, Security & Compliance
Define, implement, and evolve SharePoint and Power Platform governance models, including:
Site provisioning and lifecycle management
Permissions and access controls
Data protection and compliance alignment
Partner with cybersecurity, compliance, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and compliant solutions
Ensure platform configurations align with enterprise and regulatory requirements
Leadership, Influence & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a trusted technical advisor to IT leadership, program teams, and business stakeholders
Translate complex business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions
Lead technical design reviews, migration planning sessions, and architectural decisions
Mentor and guide technical staff on SharePoint, Power Platform, and modernization best practices
Drive adoption of modern collaboration and automation capabilities through leadership and influence (not direct authority)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
8+ years of progressive experience with SharePoint in enterprise environments
Deep hands-on experience with:
SharePoint 2016/2019
SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)
SharePoint Online
Proven experience leading SharePoint migration and modernization efforts
Strong experience migrating Nintex workflows to Power Automate and Power Apps
Extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform
Demonstrated experience using PowerShell to automate SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administrative, governance, and migration tasks
Demonstrated experience acting as a technical lead or platform owner
Proven ability to drive large-scale process improvement and workflow modernization initiatives
Leadership & Professional Competencies
Strong technical leadership with the ability to set direction and make architectural decisions
Ability to influence across organizational boundaries without formal authority
Excellent communication skills with executive, technical, and business audiences
Strategic mindset balanced with strong execution discipline
Proactive, resilient, and improvement-driven approach
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SPFx, JavaScript/TypeScript, and REST APIs
Power BI integration and reporting experience
Experience supporting regulated or secure enterprise environments
Microsoft certifications in SharePoint, Power Platform, or Microsoft 365
Experience leading platform transitions in hybrid or large-scale environments
