What you will do:
- Provide personal care assistance for the elders as a Certified Nurse Aide while maintaining standards of Nursing Care. You will work within a self-managed team to provide a home-like atmosphere including cooking, light cleaning, coordinating meaningful events and activities, speaking on behalf of the elders' interests throughout the care planning process, and other duties that are elder-centered, demonstrating St. Peter's Health Partners Mission and Core Values.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance for elders while upholding nursing standards and respecting their autonomy.
- Work within a self-managed team to create a home-like atmosphere, including cooking, cleaning, and organizing activities.
- Collaborate with team members in conflict resolution, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Use LEAN principles for problem-solving under the guidance of management.
- Maintain proper staffing levels and adhere to facility policies.
- Fulfill primary responsibilities aimed at enhancing elders' quality of life and care.
- Ensure accident prevention and promptly report safety concerns.
- Foster a warm home environment for elders.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Clinical Support Team to promote elders' autonomy and functionality.
- Document elders' care, behavior, and preferences accurately.
- Ensure food handling and kitchen cleanliness as per ServSafe training.
- Adhere to infection control policies and maintain cleanliness.
- Use good judgment in elder care decisions within scope of practice.
- Provide comprehensive elder care including hygiene assistance, feeding, and mobility support.
- Promptly respond to elder calls and attend to their needs.
- Weigh residents and monitor vital signs accurately.
- Assist with activities of daily living and ensure elder comfort.
- Perform skin assessments and report abnormalities.
- Uphold elders' rights and maintain confidentiality.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and educational classes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be able to read, write and speak English; High School Diploma or equivalent life-experience preferred.
- Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with New York State.
- Must be able to understand English both verbally and written.
- CPR/First Aid Certification required.
- Culinary course including Serv Safe training required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sincere desire to serve others.
- Must be able to relay information concerning a resident's condition.
- Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must possess the ability to work professional with other staff, residents, family members, and outside agencies/visitors.
- Must be able to successfully complete Green House Core Training (on the job).
- Must be willing to learn basic computer skills on a daily basis
Pay Range:$18.79 - $24.60
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
