Job Summary: Responsible for operating sewing machine and rollers to feed the coater j-boxes
1st Shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Use computer to scan roll labels into JIP program
- Verify coating type and weight of greige roll being sewn in
- Tag rolls with appropriate color sticker as needed
- Operate console to unroll greige rolls
- Sew tails of turf together
- Verify straightness and integrity of seam prior to sending turf into j-box
- Feed turf into j-box
- Maintain j-box level
- Communicate with console operators regarding line speed & product changes
- Perform autonomous maintenance tasks as required
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to read and understand documents such as SOPs and Safety Data Sheets
- Ability to communicate effectively with leads and supervisor
- Basic computer skills including internet use and spreadsheets
