Settlements Analyst
Assists with projects to implement settlement changes in ERCOT's Commercial Operation Systems. The analyst will develop business requirements, use cases, test cases and test changes to the integration system.
JOB DUTIES
- Assists with projects to implement ERCOT's Commercial Operation Systems, including future enhancements
- Translates protocol revisions into detailed functional business requirements
- Creates test cases, test scripts, test data and validation tools to test changes to the integration system
- Understands relational database concepts
- Supports production issues related to the data passed to the Settlement system through the integration system
- Represents the Settlements Team at project and status meetings
- Uses knowledge of software life cycle to complete tasks, enhance tools and ensure effective process flow
- Writes and executes SQL queries to generate results used in testing and analytical reports
- Regularly updates management and the Settlement team of system issues through formal status reports as well as informally via e-mails, voice message and regular team interaction
- Identifies and recommends detailed solutions and improvements to procedures and software to improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Develops strong working relationships with the key staff members of the Settlement Team, and promotes similar relationships with staff members of other ERCOT departments
EXPERIENCE
- Level 1: Requires 0-2 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Level 2: Requires minimum of 2 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Senior Level: Requires minimum of 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Lead Level: Requires minimum of 8 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Comfortable working with excel including: complex formulas, pivot tables and graphs
- Comfortable interpreting and manipulating algebraic equations
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with SAS preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree : Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or related; (Required)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
WORK LOCATION:
- Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management
- On-site schedules are flexible or may be rotated based on business needs as determined by the Manager
- Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time
