Job
Summary
We are
looking to hire a Settlement & Reconciliation Officer to manage
transaction processing, ensure timely settlement of financial activities, and
maintain accurate reconciliation of accounts.
To be
successful in this role, you should have previous experience as a settlement
& Reconciliation Officer in a bank or financial institution. Our ideal
candidate should combine an eye for details, excellent people management skills
with a goal-driven mindset.
Ultimately,
you will ensure your area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations
of our business objectives and contributes to our company’s success
Perform daily reconciliation of all financial transactions across various payment channels (cards, POS, transfers, mobile money, etc.).
Validate and match incoming and outgoing settlement reports with transaction records from internal systems.
Investigate and resolve transaction mismatches, chargebacks, and settlement disputes promptly.
Liaise with banks, payment processors, and other financial partners to ensure timely settlement of funds.
Maintain accurate records of reconciliations, settlements, and resolution actions for audit purposes.
Generate and share reconciliation and settlement reports with relevant internal teams.
Work with IT and product teams to resolve system-related reconciliation issues.
Support end-of-day, month-end, and year-end financial closure processes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal financial reporting standards.
Participate in the development and improvement of reconciliation and settlement processes and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited university
- 2-5 years of experience
in settlements, reconciliation, or financial operations (preferably in a
fintech, bank, or payment service provider).
- Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills.
- High attention to
detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Excel
and reconciliation tools; knowledge of ERP or financial software is an
advantage.
- Familiarity with
payment systems, transaction flows, and financial products.
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Skills Required
