POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Set-up Production position is responsible to set up, operate, or tend machines to cut, punch, notch, bend, or straighten metal or other materials for various departments on the production floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to set up small to medium sized presses and troubleshoot them as well.
- Able to perform set-ups on timely basis with minimum supervision, Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: read blue prints, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows all safety regulations.
- Operate heavy machinery while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE), specifically steel toe safety boots.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One to three years of experience desired in a manufacturing environment.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by management.

- As a member of the Quality Management System, quality procedures, requirements, work instructions, and other required documentation must be followed. Team members are responsible to be aware of the company’s quality policy and quality objectives to support the continuous improvement projects and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works primarily in a climate controlled manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, and fumes with moderate noise. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
- Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, and reaching
- PPE required may include safety glasses and gloves in designated areas of the facility.
