He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
Based in Mangere, our Maintenance Services Network (MSN) team have an exciting opportunity for a Water Serviceperson to join the team.
In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Installations and repair of water pipes and mains and fire hydrants.
- Installation of new water meters
- Relocation of existing water connections
- Maintenance on water networks
- Operation of small diggers and loaders to excavate and backfill Watercare assets
- Minor infrastructure upgrades
- Work as part of the team on-call standby roster
- A willingness to complete further studies and work towards the Water Industry Infrastructure works qualification through Connexis.
You will be an excellent communicator, engaging with a high standard of customer service as you will regularly interact with our customers and members of the public.

In this role you will bring:
- Confidence in operating a variety of hand tools and small plant machinery?
- A great work ethic and ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Relevant industry experience within the Water industry
- A full, clean NZ Drivers Licence (Class 1). A Class 2 licence or R, T, W, F, D endorsements will be advantageous.
- A commitment to Health and Safety
- Ability to work as part a roster which will include shifts out of normal business hours and weekend work.
