Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow UX Developer to join our team. This pivotal role will be responsible for building, overseeing, and continuously enhancing the user experience across our entire ServiceNow platform, along with enhancing employee workflows in the HR Service Delivery (HRSD) application.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between human-centered design principles and robust ServiceNow development, translating complex organizational processes into intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing digital interactions. This role directly contributes to higher user adoption, enhanced employee productivity, and a maximized return on our ServiceNow investment by transforming convoluted workflows into seamless digital journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Translate user research and business requirements into effective UX designs, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for ServiceNow forms, portals (Service Portal, Employee Center), workspaces, and custom applications
  • Develop and implement engaging and user-friendly interfaces directly within the ServiceNow platform using technologies such as HTML, CSS (Sass/Less), JavaScript (AngularJS, React, native ServiceNow scripting), and Bootstrap
  • Enhance out-of-the-box ServiceNow components and create new custom widgets, pages, and themes for the Service Portal and Employee Center
  • Ensure all designs align seamlessly with ServiceNow's platform design system and the foundational principles of the Next Experience UI
  • Act as a subject matter expert on ServiceNow UX best practices, providing guidance and recommendations to development teams and stakeholders
  • Configure and extend ServiceNow modules (e.g., HRSD, ITSM, CSM, GRC) to optimize the user experience
  • Responsible for defining requirements, designing workflows, participating in all build/configuration, testing, and troubleshooting activities to successfully deliver a project/service request
  • Ensure ServiceNow applications meet Okta security standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience on the ServiceNow platform, with at least 2-3 years specifically dedicated to custom Service Portal or Next Experience UI development with a strong emphasis on user experience
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks, including AngularJS, React, jQuery, and Bootstrap
  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to uncover user needs and validate design decisions
  • Proficiency in creating low-fidelity sketches and high-fidelity interactive prototypes to explore design solutions and gather early feedback
  • Strong understanding of UI design principles (layout, typography, color theory) and the ability to craft engaging, aesthetically pleasing, and intuitive interactions
  • Experience with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
  • Extensive experience with the ServiceNow Employee Center (or Service Portal), including widget development, theme customization, and portal configuration
  • Experience with UI Builder for constructing Next Experience UI Landing Pages, Configurable Workspaces, and custom web experiences
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow's UI policies, client scripts, and business rules as they relate to user experience
  • Ability to stay updated on UI/UX best practices, emerging technologies, and ServiceNow platform changes, with a propensity for incorporating modern design trends into solution design
  • Deep empathy and a user-centric mindset, consistently advocating for the end-user throughout the design and development process
  • Experience with UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
