ServiceNow Platform – Sr. QA Analyst
Job Summary
The ServiceNow Platform – Sr. QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of ServiceNow solutions through comprehensive testing, validation, and quality assurance practices. This role works closely with Platform Administrators, Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and stakeholders to validate platform enhancements, configurations, integrations, and releases within the IT Service Management (ITSM) ecosystem.
The Sr. QA Analyst serves as a key contributor in maintaining platform stability by developing and executing test strategies, managing regression testing activities, identifying defects, and promoting quality best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. The role combines functional testing, automation testing, release validation, and quality governance to support successful delivery of ServiceNow capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for ServiceNow platform enhancements and releases.
- Validate ServiceNow (primarily in ITSM) solutions, workflows, catalog items, integrations, and platform configurations against business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing support activities.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Collaborate with development team to reproduce issues and verify defect remediation.
Test Automation
- Design and maintain test cases for ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) tests.
- Participate in automation strategy discussions and recommend opportunities for increased test coverage.
Release & Deployment Validation
- Ensure all releases meet defined quality standards and acceptance criteria before implementation.
- Conduct smoke testing and production verification following deployments.
Quality Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and promote QA standards, testing methodologies, and best practices for platform development activities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Monitor quality metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of testing frameworks, templates, and quality controls.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Application Testing, or Quality Engineering.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications within Agile delivery environments such as Scrum.
- Experience performing functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
- Experience working with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing ServiceNow platform implementations or enhancements.
- Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Knowledge of ServiceNow SDLC, platform releases, and deployment processes.
- Experience with test automation solutions and automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- ServiceNow certifications such as:
- Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (CIS-ITSM)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
