A Brief Overview:
The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications and solutions within the ServiceNow platform. This role involves working with stakeholders to understand requirements, developing workflows, scripts, and integrations, and supporting the overall health and operation of the platform. The position assists with general ServiceNow platform support, operations, and will be actively involved in maturing the platform's capabilities. Participation in change governance processes, such as the Change Advisory Board (CAB), is also expected.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a developer who thrives on building solutions, enhancing the ServiceNow platform, and collaborating across IT teams. You’ll play a key role in developing and supporting core ServiceNow applications and delivering value through automation and process improvement.
What you will do:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new applications, modules, and enhancements on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Create and maintain business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and other scripting components.
  • Develop and support integrations with other systems using APIs, web services, and other standard methods.
  • Assist with general ServiceNow operations, including incident and request triage, access provisioning, enhancement testing, and administrative tasks.
  • Partner with process owners and stakeholders to align platform solutions with business needs across ITSM, ITOM, and other functional areas.
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to assess the technical impact of proposed changes.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance analytics to provide visibility into platform data and processes.
  • Support and collaborate with teams working in various ServiceNow modules, including Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders and technical users on ServiceNow best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in technology, Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent work experience.
  • Certification(s): ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Required
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) - Nice to Have
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM - Nice to Have
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery (CIS-Discovery) - Nice to Have
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – Service Mapping - Nice to Have
  • Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience supporting enterprise IT operations, systems, or platforms.
  • Three (3) or more years of hands-on development experience with the ServiceNow platform.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
  • Highly Preferred: Strong understanding of the ServiceNow CMDB, CI lifecycle management, and data standards. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Experience with JavaScript, Glide APIs, and ServiceNow development best practices.
  • Familiarity with platform integrations using REST, SOAP, and other web services.
  • Participation in change management or CAB processes.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow administration and basic scripting concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to strategic platform initiatives.
